About me and my practice
As a person-centred therapist, I firmly believe in your capacity for growth and self-discovery. My role is to provide you with a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space to lead your own journey of self-discovery. I practice under the name 'Inner Equilibrium Psychotherapy,' characterised by a commitment to non-judgment, empathy, and individuality.
I approach therapy with compassion and warmth, working collaboratively with you to make sense of and untangle challenges such as understanding your emotions, communicating effectively, and embracing and understanding your own vulnerability. This is the space where you get to express things previously left unspoken, learn and unlearn, ultimately discovering that little bit more about who you are and how to live authentically.
My commitment is to ensure you feel truly heard and understood every step of the way. Through our collaboration, you will gain valuable insights, develop self-awareness, and discover the tools to empower yourself, enabling you to make decisions and choices that align with your needs and aspirations.
Experience
I am a qualified and BACP-registered psychotherapist with a diverse professional background. This includes supporting student mental health within higher education contexts and my role as a Volunteer Counsellor at the LGBT Foundation. These experiences have equipped me to support clients in their journey towards embracing and embodying their most authentic selves.
I have worked extensively with clients facing a wide range of presentations, including anxiety and depression, chronic and life-limiting illnesses, loss, grief, bereavement, relationship issues, matters related to sexuality, gender, sexual identity, as well as experiences of sexual abuse and historic childhood sexual abuse.
